Training Course Report: TaeBo® Basic Instructor Training Course in Munich – Part Two

by Peter Werle (Tae Bo® Advanced Instructor / Red Bandages)

Each of us had been looking forward to the second weekend, driven by curiosity about how it would proceed. Especially I, the instructor, was wondering about the progress of the individual participants in the course of two weeks - progress in the sense of physical progress (strength and stamina, quickness), the ability to implement motor skills and, above all, the will-power of each person to experience his/her limits, to step beyond them and to reach the next level.

After an interesting day of anatomy taught by Jochen Habsch, we went back to practical exercises: Warm up, repetition of techniques learned so far, group work and exercises with a partner. In doing this, we refined the rough form of the techniques more and more.

The prerequisites that have to be mastered for the examination are known:
Body posture with inner tautness (body alignment), aggressive aura radiating positive energy for the participants, good technical skills and the ability not only to be an expert of the things you learned, but also to pass them on as a teacher.

"Knee raise to the side..."

"Front knee raise"

"Front knee raise" Part Two

Cross-punch from the four-point stance: "Cross your centerline..."

This gladdens the trainers’ heart: Cross the centerline,
the heel always where it should be and always keeping an eye on the goal.

Our supporter Peter Huhn indicates the goal with the paw.

"Model sparring" – exercises with a partner 1-2-1-6

"Offensive jab - keep your gard..."

And another jab ...

...and yet another one – come on and fight with me!

Group work, group work, group work...

If you implement what you have learned, not only the technical details, but also the background and the
philosophy of Billy Blanks, we will have even more fun on the third weekend – and I am very optimistic about that.

Don’t disappoint me!
