Training Course Report: TaeBo® Basic Instructor Training Course in Munich – Part One

by Peter Werle (Tae Bo® Advanced Instructor / Red Bandages) Part Two

The IFAA Basic Training Course started for those who would like to become an original Billy Blanks Tae Bo® Instructor on 25/26 May 2002 in Munich. The mixed group soon got along well with each other during the first two training days, and the different participants were already united after a short time "through the sweat of their brows”.

In the next two months, the participants’ task will be to strengthen their will-power, to learn the basic techniques and to understand the philosophy of Tae Bo, so that they can pass it on to future course participants as intended by Billy Blanks.

There is still a lot of work to do, but success never comes easily. Ultimately, you cannot kindle a fire in others until you have one burning in yourself.

Cross-punch as a partner exercise. It is important to always concentrate on your goal: "... you have got to have focus!!!"

Group exercise: The first basic techniques.

The group is learning the cross-punch. Important: Body alignment! A good example for an exemplary guard...

After theoretical explanations of the sidekick, here we have the first contact with a punching bag and the feeling of scoring a hit.

Important: Balance! A big compliment for these kicks on the first weekend for those without any experience in martial arts...

... Keep going!! – Peter
